I got this pedal about 5 days ago, and finally found the time to sit down and mess with it. You can tweak this thing so many differnt ways the tonal possibilities are endless. I play metal and it adds a little something exra to my overall sound. This is another awsome pedal from Boss.

Verb for Keys

This has really added to my collection. I mean really. I play keys and run external effects to get the sounds I want. The RV-5 with some delay and maybe a bit of a Compressor makes some of my songs go from ok... to Awesome. If I left my RV-5 back home and needed one... I would definitely drop cash for a new one on the spot. It is highly recommended by me.

Lots of options here. It's really a high quality effect. I like to crank up the hall verb and finger-pick a clean tone, possibly with a little delay. AAHHHH!!! I could listen to it all day. I am VERY happy with this effect. It's expensive, but I really can't see myself ever using another verb.

Much better than the ME-50

I own a Boss ME-50. I tried this pedal out in the store using my Schecter C-1 Classic and a Fender Pro Junior. This thing blows the ME-50's reverbs out of the water! The spring reverb on the ME-50 sounds way overdone and way squeakier than any real amp. Like it's broken, basically. If my amp sounded like this, I'd get it repaired. Not so with this digital reverb pedal! The spring reverb sounds exactly like my '72 Fender Twin Reverb. The Plate echo is very nice. The room reverb sounds much more like a real room. The hall reverb sounds a little less overdone than the ME-50. Didn't like the MOD setting though. I hope to purchase one of these in the near future.

If I could go back in time I would buy another reverb. This pedal isn't terrible, but it's so expensive, and has some high-end at the end of the reverb. Even with the tone way down its there. I love the different options but I'm all about sound. So it probably depends on what your preference is.
