I have been composing on guitar and performing at open mics solo quite a bit. Having established my creds in these venues I now find myself landing solo gigs of up to two hours. Gulp. Enter the RC-20 to save the day and make longer variations on my material at short notice possible. I can even record an entire chorus of changes (Bluesette, for example) and then solo single line through it! The tone of the recorded audio is phenomenal: clean as class A imho. Although the user manual is confusing and initially led me to believe that I would NOT be able to record and playback on the fly, an hour's experimentation was all it took to teach me that my intended application is indeed this unit's primary function, and that it is *extremely* easy to operate. My little accompanist. Thank you, Roland.

Good for the road. However loops can overtake you in a live band situation due to the human input. Really is good for solo. Battery powered it seems to last forever on a set of rechargeables, one less cable to trip over in your set up.

(I know I'm not the best at writing). This loop pedal is all anyone really needs. The single pedal is pretty complicated but with this pedal, you can do all you need to do live with your feet. Just plug in any keyboard pedal and you can rotate through the loops. It takes time to learn how to use it but it's not too complicated. A very useful feature is that even if you tap it a little bit off time, it knows the beat and corrects it for you. I would suggest that you get a power supply for this though. I don't know what the battery life is but unless you don't use this live and use rechargeable batteries, I wouldn't risk it.

This pedal is very impressive! I can't believe how accurate it is. The one thing you have to keep in mind is that you will need to get good at keeping time and hitting the pedal at the right time. It does alot of work for you, but you have to hit the pedal on beat. I use this thing live and love it. It is very reliable. Helps in writing songs too.

1. touring musicians use this pedal live 2. you can control the volume of the metronome with a knob 3. the timing is excellent on this looper and after playing with it a bit, you are able to get excellent results 4. this tool really opens up possibilities for live shows. Looping vocals, sound effects, and so on is easy and can help get you from the studio to the stage
