This thing is fantastic. I've only had it for a little while but already its easy to see the amazing potential in this little box. For composing, creating, or learning to solo, everyone should have this. It is worth noting that its REALLY nice to have an effects loop if you are using this thing. That way you can record a clean rhythm track and then switch channels on your amp to overdrive for a solo. If you aren't playing through an FX loop, your rhythm track will be overdriven as well. Undo feature is handy as well, and boss makes a durable pedal. Highly recommended.

I've only had mine for about a day, so I can't give a completely in-depth review, but I will say that it this pedal is MUCH simpler to use than it seems, and owning one is more rewarding than you would expect. You've got 16 minutes of time to play with! You can put 1/2-1/4 of a normal setlist in here and have it almost play itself! Some tips if you do buy: learn to use the tempo and the overdub functions, as most loops require this to sound right; buy a foot switch; and save a good sample the first time you nail it. Beyond that, buy it and have fun with it! It's a genius piece of hardware and very worth the price.

This little stomp box is impressive! I got mine early December and after understanding all the controls and how to work it, the pedal is alot of fun!(youtube has some helpful videos on how to work it, or you can read the manual)

It has a nice built in drum machine and metronome, and once you get jammin on it just gets better and better with practice.

One thing I am trying to figure out is how to make the levels of the different layers come out at different volumes. Ill have a loop going and then the next layer I add will be too quiet and the first loop drowns it out. But Im sure I will figure it out with some more tinkering..

This pedal is simply awesome!

The RC-2 is a great looping pedal for practice! Ive owned it for about a year now, and it has never failed me. I mostly use it to sketch up ideas on my own, and then bring them in for full band runs.

For the size it takes up on my pedal board, it is packed with features. most useful is the undo function, so you can add and remove loops all day long (though u can only undo your currently active loop). I made my own external 2 button footswitch, to effectively make it a RC-20.

Since its a boss, itll survive almost anything. Ive never had a problem with it, except i do suggest a power supply for it, since it tears through batteries like no other.

I run a american deluxe strat through a fender hot rod, and i dont hear any addition to the signal when not in use, though sometimes you can hear a bit with several loops.

Great practice tool.

couldn't live without it

I gave it a 4 1/2 on features because the "guide tone-drum patterns" aren't great. I usually don't use the drum patterns though, and for laying, looping, and dubbing overtop of riffs, I can't imagine anything working better. This loop has helped advance my guitar playing/composing/soloing extensively. I was a little nervous about getting it rather than one with more features, but I'm so glad I did. Simple, easy to use. Amazing.
