The BOSS DD-7 Digital Delay is a guitar effects pedal that takes the best features from its predecessors and expands their creative potential. You get Modulation Delay mode, classic modeled Analog Delay mode, External pedal control options, longer delay time, and more. Even with the best-selling delays in compact-pedal history, BOSS continues to push the envelope and innovate.

Expanded Delay Time
Up to 6.4 seconds of delay time are available with the DD-7, a marked increase from its predecessor. In addition, Hold mode allows up to 40 seconds of input to be recorded for creating "sound on sound" performances.

Delay Modes
The BOSS DD-7 pedal is equipped with two innovative and advanced delay modes. Modulation Delay provides chorus-flavored sounds. Analog Delay offers a modeled simulation of the classic BOSS DM-2, beloved for its characteristic warmth.

External Control
For handsfree control of the DD-7 pedal, an external footswitch and Expression pedal (sold separately) can be used. Tap tempo can be controlled from an external footswitch, while delay time, feedback, and effect level can be changed on the fly via Expression pedal.

Stereo Output
Create amazing effects with the BOSS DD-7 pedal's stereo output, such as spatial audio sweeps via true stereo panning. You can also use the stereo outputs to create separate dry and wet signal paths - handy for recording and live-performance control.

Definately a good delay pedal. Reverse mode isn't what I expected but still does some cool stuff. It has any delay time use able, I can't imagine having to use all 6.8 seconds of the delay time. An external foot swith really unlocks the potential of this thing so you can bring the delay in mid-song for a solo or something, you're selling youself short other wise. The looper is good, you really can't make a bad looper and 40 seconds is more than enough time. The looper is my favorite part of this pedal, I've written songs I normally wouldn't have thought of... regardless this is a good buy in my opinion because it stimulates your creativity.

The Boss DD-7 is a great effect. The tap tempo is extremely convenient for adjusting to shifting tempos mid-song. I use a low delay time for leads to create an almost reverb effect which is very useful. Get this pedal. You wont regret it.

I was stuck between this and another analog delay. I referred to some friends, read hundreds of reviews and decided on this. I was not disappointed, this is a great pedal. I suppose if you really want to get an old school delay sound, the analog is great, but this pedal does it all. I play a Paul Reed Smith Custom 22 on a Peavey Bandit 112 80w (if that helps at all). I picked a PRS because of the tone, they just sound great, and this DD-7 definitely compliments my guitar. Anyway, I think the features on this delay are absolutely great. I can really get any sound I want. And for those people that say these digital delays are suck your tone, I can really disagree, it sounds great. When I decided on a digital delay it was between this and the DD-3. Since I could afford this one, I picked the extra features. This delay sound great with some Pink Floyd or Buckethead songs. Very pleased with this purchase. But make sure you buy an adapter, it drains your batteries.

Leaps and bounds above the dd6. I owned my dd6 for a long time and swore by it, but secretly I always thought to myself; 5.4 seconds of looping? what am i going to do with that? 40 seconds? That's more like it. The dd7 also has 6.4 seconds of delay time, as well as other improved features, but you can just read the description for that kinda stuff. It's the best sounding digital delay I have heard. Little pricey, but worth it.

so i got this for christmas. and i like long reviews, so i'm gonna write one for all you 'confused about which one is better' people.

i don't try to be harsh, as i do have experience with many different delays, and this one is average. i was looking forward to using it for maybe some post-rock sounds, like explosions in the sky, and the DD-7 fails at that. you have to invest in either a better pedal (digitech timebender or boss giga-delay) or buy two delay pedals. my friend uses a DD-3 with the DD-7 and it sounds amazing. not kidding. that's a good route to take. this however, depends on what sound you want. post-rock is always fun to experiment with, so i prefer to refer to that genre. i like some things about digital delay, but i prefer analog delay. the analog delay mode on this pedal is adequate. not great by any stretch of any imagination. it sounds fabricated. just like digital. sometimes this is useful but not for post-rock. my favorite thing about this pedal is the looper/hold function. it's pretty great, as it has 40 seconds of looping. (which btw if you run a 1/4 mic into this pedal you'll be suprised what you get out of the looper [just an experiment]) i love this and use it a lot. anything above 800 ms. is useless to me. so i won't talk about that function. if you layer two delay pedals together on the 50 ms. setting all you get is hum, so that's not useful at all. i wish this pedal had a display for the particular ms. measurement because that's very useful. but what can you ask out of a boss stompbox? i haven't done it intentionally but you literally could throw this at your wall, go get it on the other side and start playing again. yes no one's lying about them being built like tanks. overall this pedal is okay. many features in a spacesaving box. each feature could be expanded, and the analog could be improved a lot.
