The BR-70 delivers solid prewar tone with a sharp modern look. |
Crafted with a select solid spruce top, hand-carved X-bracing, choice rosewood back and sides, and a traditional dovetail neck joint for pure Golden Era tone. Expertly applied white binding adorns the body, neck, and headstock. The abalone and pearl inlay work on the headstock and the back center stripe of intricate wood marquetry are touches of fine art. Aged-tone finish completes the vintage look. The slim mahogany neck and traditional dreadnought body make it a truly enjoyable guitar to play.
Contemporary Series Blueridge guitars offer prewar performance with a clean, modern look and style.
If you've been searching for a Golden Era guitar that isn't priced like it's made of gold, then Blueridge guitars are for you. Reminiscent of fine American guitars built prior to WWII, Blueridge guitars are made with the same techniques as their antique counterparts, including many by-hand processes.
Like the best instruments, Blueridge guitars aren't overbuilt; they're crafted to be light and resonant. Meticulous attention to detail and quality craftsmanship is evident in the traditional, forward-position, hand-carved parabolic X-bracing which allows the solid Spruce top to ring loud and true. Blueridge guitars feature a traditional dovetail neck joint, slim mahogany neck, adjustable truss rod, and butterbean-button, Kluson-style tuning machines with an updated mechanism for modern precision and feel.

blueridge br70

I bought this guitar without seeing or playing it; I had a recomendation about Blueridges in general and the guitar just looked so appealing on the online site. It arrived a couple of days ago and I'm impressed. Though it arrived with the action quite high, it has been an easy fix to shave the bone saddle and give the truss rod a slight tweak. No buzzes anywhere. The sound is just great, can't complain about anything there at all; the harmonics ring forever. I exchanged the Dadarrios that came with it with Elixer twelves, I think 11's as the next set of strings will improve the the sound of the open D's and overall playability. The guitar is definitely a beautiful blingy instrument and very lightweight. Craftsmanship is nearly impeccable. The head seems a bit crowded for the tuners, though the look of it is just right. The tuners seem a bit unsubstantial and are at this point, somewhat hard to turn, but time will tell there and that's an easy fix if needed. The case quality is a bit less than I'm used to, but the value on this product overall is just fine, I'm happy I bought it. I would and probably will buy another Blueridge if the prices remain so reasonable.

I havew owned 2 D-41s and have to say that the Blueridge stands right with them. The resonation is fantastic and the octives of all the cords are consistent of any $3000+ guitar. I also own a Gigson Doves In Fleight custom at over $6000 MSRP and have to say the Blueridge BR-70 sounds as good. Play ability is effortless and no string buzz anywhere on the neck. A great investment for a begennrt or a pro player. If you want a status symbol by a Martin if you want a great guitar buy a Blueridge.

This guitar is one of the best I have played. I played this one at a music store and I liked it so much I bought it. It is light weight and easy to move around, the idea thing if you play in small rooms or on a stage. The sound is the best thing about this guitar. It has bass but the higher notes are very clear so the sound is mixed. My dad has a Martin D-41 and the two guitars sound very much alike. The looks are very good to.

Blueridge Stands Up Well

I purchased my Blueridge BR-70 back in September 2007. Here's what my experience has been. Playability
This guitar has very low action from the factory; so low, in fact, that it has some noticeable fret buzz all the way around. You will need to do some setup work, but to be honest, that can be expected with any guitar in this price range. Sound
The sound is pretty evenly tempered. It has a nice amount of bass, but it's not boomy by any means. The mids and the treble come on strong; overall it cuts through the mix pretty well, with a good bit of volume. It's opening up more and more. I own many guitars, but the highlight of my collection is a Martin D40. I hear people tell me all the time that this Blueridge sounds better than any Martin they've ever heard; I just smile and think, "you haven't heard mine." I'm going to be honest and say I don't understand how people can compare the two brands. Totally different categories and price ranges, and besides "best" is subjective. I like this Blueridge for what it is, and I like the Martin for what it is. Fit, Finish, Durability
Everything is put together very nicely. It's finished well, and cosmetically, this guitar is gorgeous. I've played probably 40 or 50 shows with this guitar, and it's held up no problem, but you'd expect that. Overall, it's a good guitar, I like it, and I'm glad I bought it. Your mileage may vary.
