I have been playing many many years and I have never run across a guitar of this quality for this little money. I have played Martins, Guilds and you name it I would rank this one right up there. You don't have to treat it like its made of Diamonds and you can still afford to feed your family unlike other guitars. A REAL players guitar.

This is a truly great guitar. I was intent on purchasing a Taylor 310 which, by the way is also an excellent guitar. After playing both, I was amazed that the Blueridge sounded and played as well or better than the Taylor. This guitar is easy to fret but does not "buzz" when played hard. The lows are warm and deep and the highs are crisp and clear. Plugged in, the Fishman pickups also sound great. My friends who swear by Taylor are also amazed. They kept on asking - "Now how much did you pay?" The finish is absolutely beautiful. Overall, this is an excellent guitar at less than half the price of a comparable big name guitar.

First of all, it's a beauty, with a nicely coordinated matchbook solid top, solid mahogany back and sides, and understated b/w/b body binding and unusual "Dalmatian" pickguard. Very glossy all around, with a rather ornate MOP headstock decoration--which might be off-putting to some folks, but I love it. It has great playability, being a bit smaller than the full-size dreadnought or jumbo style, and the cutaway is helpful as well. The action when I got it was perfect, plenty low but with no fret buzz. It has the Fisher Prefix Plus system, which is very nice quality (though I play it mostly unplugged), and the overall sound is very balanced. As for the "pre-War" sound it was supposed to have, I didn't really notice any big difference between the Blueridge and, say, an equivalent Martin at first, but after a few months, I realized it was coming across more with a "smooth-yet-raw" sound (does that make any sense?). I think it just took a little time to get played in (maybe with the strings also--don't know what brand/type they are exactly). Anyway, it is a unique sound, and it appeals to me a lot; it's very sensual, kind of gut-grabbing when I pick a few notes or (especially) bend a few notes. Definitley worth the price.
