Vintage Sunburst Case, Open

Crafted with a select solid spruce top, choice solid mahogany back and sides, and a traditional dovetail neck joint for pure tone. Traditional slope-shoulder construction with a 16" lower bout and 24-3/4" scale length. Exclusive diamonds-and-snowflakes pearl inlay motif delivers vintage vibe. The slim mahogany neck makes it a truly enjoyable guitar to play.

Blueridge BG-series guitars are made with the same techniques as their vintage American counterparts, including many by-hand processes. Like the best instruments, Blueridge guitars aren't overbuilt; they're crafted to be light and resonant. Meticulous attention to detail and quality craftsmanship are evident in the traditional hand-carved parabolic X-bracing that allows the solid Spruce top to ring loud and true. All Blueridge BG-series guitars feature a traditional dovetail neck joint, slim mahogany neck, adjustable truss rod, and vintage-style tuning machines, with an updated mechanism for modern precision and feel.

Solid Wood, Great Sound, attractive finish, easy playing with short scale. I own 3 Blueridge guitars, BR-1060, BR-160, and BG-140. The BG-140 has a deep, mellow sound that is clear throughout the sound spectrum and is a joy to play. I strung it with D'Addario EXP-16's and it sounds wonderful! You will not be disappointed.

Blueridge Has a Problem

I purchased my Blueridge BR 140 last June. Loved the sound with fingerpicking, but not as much with strumming. Turners are no-name and are very tight and I'm concerned that I'll have to replace them. Bigger problem. I read that the tops on Blueridge guitars are prone to cracking - well I found out that is absolutely true. My Blueridge cracked in two places this week. One crack on above the soundhole is minor but noticable, the other is at the centre below the bridge and it has opened up wide enough to see through. I am afraid it will come apart. I have a 25 year old Flambeau that went through a lot of parties and abuse and it is still solid as ever - If you are looking for a tough guitar Blueridge is not a choice you should make.

Alot better at this price than the higher priced units. Some, very minor flaws, but wouldn't pay another grand to overcome them, maybe. Came well setup. Nut action was in the .05in range, very nice; no one will complain over all in this regard; if they're all like this one. The solid body wood version, this one 140, seems to be of a higher quality finish, then the 40 version... maybe because of the wood, price? But better, so pay the extra. The sounds the same, so otherwise, not then. Complaint; the tuners, I don't like'em, period. Very cheap, buttons loose on the stems, etc., very, very hard to restring. Very bad.
