The HT-5H tube guitar amp from Blackstar is ideal for studio work or practice, packing all the great tone and innovative features of the award-winning HT tube pedals into a 2-channel, footswitchable tube amp format. The patent-applied-for ISF (Infinite Shape Feature) circuit gives you infinite adjustment over the characteristics of the tone control network and takes your tone from the USA to the U.K. and anywhere in-between. So now you can effectively design your own tone and finally find "that sound in your head."

Ideal for home and studio use, the HT-5H sounds full and toneful even at the lowest volume level thanks to a brand-new tube power amplifier topology designed by Blackstar engineers. The power amp is a low-powered, push-pull design which produces the crunch and breakup characteristics of a traditional 100W output stage but at a much lower volume.

The HT-5H also has a speaker-emulated output, further enhancing its studio credentials and allowing any guitarist to get amazing tube tone straight to tape or disk, or through headphones. It also features the unique 4x12/1x12 voicing switch, allowing you to change the tonal characteristics of the emulated signal between 2 emulated cabinet types.

Add to this an effects loop with switchable level along with 16-ohm and 8-ohm speaker outputs allowing you to run the amp into an external speaker cabinet of your choice, and you have everything you need for recording or practicing.

Best Studio Amp At Any Price

And for practice and small gig's it's all you could ask for. Not being a fan of 10" speakers I am running it through my VOX Night Train Cabinet which has a Green Back 12 in it. This is a killer set up for any of the southern rock, hard rock, any rock that I play. It sounds so impressive I don't even miss the reverb. Got to use it in the studio last week and all I can say is Blackstar has built the amp I've been trying to find for the last 30 years. Hat's off to the folks at Blackstar.

Just got mine last nite--very powerful five watts with tons and tons of gain AND a clean channell! Sounds great through my Rebel cab and it's plenty loud. Can't see having a problem doing a small room gig with it. Great value, won' disappoint !

I bought this little Gem on eBay and could not be any happier with an amp. Very pleased with the construction&quality materials used! The clean channel sounds very nice and I wasn't expecting that. The overdrive is really nice for my music, i.e. Blues rock: ZZ Top, Winter, Hendrix, all the classics. It’s so easy to dial in that Classic Rock sound--at least with a Les Paul plugged in. Can be a Metal Amp with the proper Stomp Box no doubt. I was running it into my Marshall 2x12 1936 cab but recently bought the Blackstar 1X10 cab and this is a combo made in heaven. Not usually a fan of 10' speakers but they voiced this perfect for the amp and the tonal range (nice highs and good low end--which is usually lacking in 10’s) is fantastic!! You can't go wrong with this great little amp and I highly recommend it along with the matching speaker cabinet. In a tough economy this is a great price for a great product!

I have been searching for an amp exactly like this for years now and finally found it. Sounds almost exactly like my old JCM800(ISF Dimed) but at basement levels. Drop the ISF to "0" and it reminds me of a Boogie Mark II. You will need a pedal to get Nu-Metal and Thrash sounds, but does Priest and Scorpions very well. I like the sound better than my DSL 100 or my Peavey XXX at a fraction of the price and volume. This is the amp rock guitarists dream about: Inexpensive, portable, cheap to retube, and sounds killer.

Souns as good as everyone says, pleanty of great sounds, make sure you use good speakers for best results, no other small 5 watt amp packs so many features. I have the BlackHeart 5 watt head also and it does not get as dirty as the blackstar, but is a great sound in it's own and sounds even better when using the blackstar's send loop to the blackheart and having them both connected to a stereo cabinet, the blackstars preamp makes a great pedal. Only complaint of the blackstar is can't handle 4 ohms like the blackheat and the cabinet is partical board.
