LITTLE BOMB !!!!

I know that pretty much everybody who owns this amp is crazy about it and rightfully so. I went out looking for a 30 or 40 watt gigging amp and ended up buying the Little Giant. I walked into a music store and he had a demo model on special with the 12" bottom. I plugged in an Epi LP and cranked the thing I was sold immedialtely. Great clarity and it gets dirty when cranked, 3 band EQ is just prefect. I gave it a 4 for features, because it needs a reverb. Though I fixed that easily. Bought a reverb mod kit for it on E-bay, easy to install and now the amp is a 10/10. You can get the Marshall closed cab bite with this thing and a Fenderesque clean twang at lower settings. I can't wait to gig with it, it is plenty loud and a mic in front of it will do the trick if you need it.
So go buy one before the price goes up, you will be thankful you did. Remember Billy Gibbons doesn't play Crate amps for nothing and he has played everything. ENJOY !!!!

Loud but Unimaginative

As far as tube amps go, most of the tone variation comes from you choice in tubes. That being said, even as far as tube amps go, this one does not have a lot of versatility. You have low gain and high gain, and that's it. But, if you like the sound it has, it is a good choice. The sound is, however, uncannily close to a mid range solid state. However, it is an very well built little amp, and if I had to guess I would figure it to be about 20 watts on the Pentode setting.

BH Little Giant 3/5 watter

I bought this new from MF a while back as a backup to my Marshall & Traynor all tube amps. Finally got to use it in a bigger practice studio thru a Gk 2x12 celestion cab. Now lets get this straight. This amp was set at 3 watt mode the whole time. In the beginning I turned down from 4 to 3 but never adjusted master volume after that. I purposely ran my weaker pickup guitar to challenge the Little Giants capabilities. So one of my Squier 51's got the nod. Mainly set on the weaker neck pickup an upgraded dimarzio virtual blues but still with higher output than stock . Running thru my fx board which was off most of the time for ryhthm. So I know my humbucker guitars will cut thru even better. The bass player was running a 200 watt head thru a custom 2x10 & 2x12 slant front. The other guitar was running a Mesa Stiletto thru a Marshall slant front 4x12 @ 50 watt mode. The BH LG had no problem keeping up with any of it. So the story's you read about it not keeping up with the drums are totally false & are just inexperienced musician blabber, as louder is not better. I never did switch to 5 watt mode(would of been even cleaner) in the 3 hours of practice. My tube screamer cleared the way for leads. And the LG was strong and clean only at 3, talk about headroom! So bottom line is this is not just a great very portable backup for your tube amp. But it's also an ASS kick'n Little GIANT as labeled. A must for the collection & MF gave me agreat deal and a great amp. Thanks..

Blackheart Little Giant Poor Quality

I bought this Blackheart BH5H amp and two Blackhart 1x12 specker cabs both new from a local guitar shop.
Once I got it home I noticed the amp and speaker cabs female connectors seemed very cheap.
After I plugged my guitar in the amp I noticed the cable connections were very loose. I tried several cables but got the same results.
The connectors from the amp to the speaker cabinets were the same way, very cheap hardware!
This amp is NEW and when I tip my amp head 45 degrees the guitar wire FALLS OUT of the amp head all by its self. WOW!
I also have two Blackheart 1x12 speaker cabs and the connectors are also the same way, VERY CHEAP hardware causing poor connections.
I called the factory HELP number to discuss my concerns. They would not help me!
Knowing what I know now, I would not buy anything from Blackheart because of their poor quality and poor customer service.

I love this little amp

I can tell by the reviews that this amp is a hit. Just wanted to leave my $0.02. I love this little amp.
Great for home use, at home volumes, but also enough for practice room with a drumkit (I run it through a 2x12 cab). You'll need to mic if you need volume in bigger rooms though. Has really good tone. It'll do clean very well, and if you need distortion it takes a pedal nicely - at least my Fulltone OCD. I do think you'll need a pedal if you like distortion as the amp by itself doesn't quite give me what I like.
I haven't changed tubes out as many others have. I like the sound of the amp stock. I did buy some replacement tubes, just haven't felt need to put them in.
I use the 3W mode mostly for home use, but the 5W mode is nice to have to kick up volume some when practicing with band. The 5W mode seems to give it a bit more bite/edge, but is a bit much volume when I'm just practicing alone at home.
In total a great little amp. It has that "thing" about it that makes me want to play through it.
