I use this playing both a Gibson XR-3 and Washburn J9 (both discontinued) with a Digitech RP7 Valve, Boss OD2, and Ibanez Bi-Mode Chorus. I use all these pedals because the distortion settings are a) not foot-switchable, and b) buzz more than sound the notes you're playing. The speaker simulations give it some nice preset EQ's, but forget turning on the high gain or hot tones; it will buzz.

As far as pros go, the clean sounds are actually nice if you mess around with gain and volume right. It gets punchy, but not too punchy. Also, this amp is loud, don't let the size of it fool you; however, be careful and don't crank it too loud, my speaker has begun crackling when it gets louder (thus I've been using the headphone jack on stage)

Don't get this amp if you want it for its modeling capabilities. I have been happy with it (in addition to my pedals), but I'm getting a VOX VT30 soon so I'm not looking like a fool on stage, it's not something you can mic without picking up all the other noises (like footsteps and other amps) on stage. Then again, it IS only 15 watts. I use it to keep crap like stacks off my stage.

I got this amp with my starter package about 4-5 years ago. It is an amazing beginners amp. Small, easy to carry and not a bad sound. I have been needing a new amp for awhile now but haven't gotten one due to money issues. You will need to upgrade after about 2 years of playing minimum. This amp has served me well.

I'd say, unless you don't know what good tone is, do NOT GET THIS AMP. Save your money and get something worth listening to.

I recived this amp a few days ago and put it through the test. I played with and with out headphones. I tried every combination I could think of with it's modeling features. I must say I was sceptical at first, I was pleasently surprised at this little giant of an amp. Not only was I able to dial up crushing distorted tone , but I was able to get sweet creamy clear tone that would make any jazz or blues player happy. Never judge a piece of equiptment by its price. The only thing in the negative column would be the speaker. When I was cranking it up it started to get real loose sounding so I backed off the bass and turned it down a touch(no worries). All in all this makes a great practice amp and the best part is you jam out with the headphones on and get all the true amp tones you need and not wake the kiddies. This amp is deffinatly worth the money, I love it!!!
