Not what I was looking for

This unit is a good idea, but doesn't deliver IMO. I was hoping to free up some room on my pedal board by using this rack unit for my live playing. Comparing this to other units it seemed like a good way to go.

I used a midi interface with my computer and tweaked every setting for about two weeks and couldn't come up with a sound that I thought was good enough. The distortions are unimpressive and the modulation effects leave a lot to be desired. This is just another digital unit claiming to model amps and cabs perfectly, but coming up short.

I really wanted to give this a chance because of all the great reviews it seems to get, but in the end it didn't make the grade for me.

I have owned the V-amp, Vamp Pro and the V-Ampire combo amp. Every single one of them broke or went wacky. The V-amp pro broke (circuit went crazy) only after 4 months! I am not hard on my gear either. Behringer get the quality in order please. I love the sound of these units. I have used them live and recording demos in the studio, but after all the quality issues, I am now afraid to take these to a gig. The quality is just crappy.

Had a V-Amp2 a few years ago and it had issues from the start. Went ahead and ordered the V-Amp Pro after much deliberation. I was hoping for better quality, but the master volume went out after the second day of lite usage. Too bad as I favour the V-Amp sound generation capabilities over the Pod. If only Behringer can get their quality control issues ... controlled (!) it would be great. Sent the unit back. Perhaps in a future date when they are solid I will try again.

For the money, you cant go wrong. Sounds WAY better than the line6 stuff for much less money. Convincing tones...I use mine in a home studio for direct recording. The analog speaker cab simulation sounds better than the digital ones in my opinion. Doesnt have the subtle nuances and feel of a tube amp but theres not a digital modeler on the planet that does. Its not built very tough but if you take care of it, itll provide many years of service.

Unfortunately, my V-AMP that I've had for 3 years was stolen out of my garage about 3 months ago.

Like I said in my previous post, I am purchasing another today! In the mean time, I had been using a POD 2.0, and honestly, with my set up, I just can't get the sounds I'm looking for with it, so decided to go back to the V-AMP. I missed it.

Again, for the price, routing capabilities, sound quality whether live or recording, you can't beat this pre-amp.
