I have the regular v-tone package, got it a few years backs, and surprisingly,I have had good experience with it.The neck is great, the frets are well done, the bodywork is what you would expect from a lower end manufacturer.I do agree about the tuners and pickups, and luckily had a spare set of tuners and pickups to replace them with. Did a full setup on it, and it plays great now. A good guitar to learn on both playing and maintaining.

Like many of the previous reviews have said, this guitar is utterly shotty. The pickups are absolutely horrible and it doesn't stay in tune at all. The frets buzz like it's their job, and the materials just feel so cheap when you're holding and playing it. The whammy bar is very cheap feeling, too, and it creaks a lot in its socket. For the price, you might as well just save up a little extra cash for a cheap Fender, Ibanez, or Squier for a first guitar. This piece of junk hardly constitutes as one.

when i first got this guitar 5 years ago, it stayed in tune, tremolo bar was intact, and there were no dead frets. a year later, i bought a replacement tremolo bar and when i went to dive bomb the bar snapped at the base were it screws into the guitar making the tremolo bar feature unusable. recently the tuning pegs started coming out of tune, to fix this, i tried lowering the action. Bad mistake! once i started to lower the G string, the small screw striped, non of the other strings will lower and this one wont raise back up, thus making techniques like sweep picking and arpeggios extremely hard to do. (who would attempt the on this guitar anyways). a little after that, i noticed a couple of dead frets that i assume had been there since i purchased it, im only now finding them because im learning on the high part of the neck were i have never had experience with before. in my opinion, don't get this guitar. its not a begging guitar, or a recording guitar, it sounds terrible when played back using an audio program.

the pickups suck, the bodys cut like crap, the necks warped, it dosent stay in tune even with brand new strings. its a rip off for the fender , or squire witch is the way to go for a first. oh yeah , the frets buzz too. and the bodys like 45 feet thick. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY< YOU WILL NOT LEARN ON THIS!!
