I wanted to try this extensions cab before purchasing Basson's 412 cab. The reviews on this thing and all Basson's products almost seemed too good to be true. Well they aren't. This thing thumbs, loud! I'm playing at half the volume compared to my previous 412 cab, and this thing is still louder by itself. The more I crank the volume the better it performs. It doesn't distort at high volumes and the tone is phenomenal. I couldn't imagine what the half-cab sounds like, but I'm definitely getting that next time.

Price vs. Performance, these products are a steal.

Long story short: I don't play out anymore and have a baby on the way. So I needed to downsize my rig. I couldn't bear to part with my vintage tube head, but didn't have room for the 4x12 cab anymore.

If you're reading this, you probably already know the lack of options when searching for a 1x12 cab. On paper, this cabinet seemed like a no brainer. I was somewhat wary of the MDF construction until I checked some high-end audiophile resources. I've played through Eminence speakers for ages and they never let me down. So, I went ahead and bought it.

I've had this cab for about 3 months now. It looks great with my vintage head. The build quality couldn't be better. I've sufficiently broken in the Eminence Lengend speaker. Let me tell you, I'm a ruthless tone snob. Having said that, I absolutely love the sound of this cab. I can't imagine how anyone can try to tell me any Celestion can beat an Eminence.

Since I'm strictly playing at home, I don't miss my 4x12 at all. In fact, this cab sounds better because I can drive it more appropriately for the volume levels I'm using. The Basson cab lives up to its claims and then some; this cab can handle multiple personality channel changes without breaking a sweat. Sweet jazz tones to obscene gain levels all come through effortlessly. The bass response is the biggest surprise. Most of my friends don't beleive they're hearing a 1x12.

Basson is really onto something here. Get yourself one before the word spreads and the prices go up!

I'm no pro musician. But over the years I've been in many bands and used a lot of rigs. Mesa, Fender, Peavy, Marshall, and Crate. These days I'm a basement rocker. Lean towards the metal stuff. The Basson 1x12 is perfect for me. Small and puts out huge volume. Best yet is it sounds so clean. It produces a tight accurate punch when downstroking, and an easily heard single note picking. It sounds clean throughout the whole range of the fret board. It truely sounds as good as the really high dollar rigs pushing 2 to 4 12's. I'm runnig a Sovtek mig30 with a Mesa v-twin pre amp/distortion box. I can't believe the volume, and clarity of sound at high volume this cab puts out. I'd tell anyone looking for a small cab to buy the Basson!
