I am a classic rock-blues player. For many years I used an MXR distortion +. After trying out many distortion pedals over the years then I came across the BBE crusher. I dont know about you but I like simple easy to control stuff. This pedal is ideal for specifically classic or blues playing-built solid and a good value at the price.

This is a great pedal. Sounds good for classic rock or blues. If that's what your looking for try this pedal out. I, also, love the EQ for tone shaping. Good job BBE.

This is a good flavor of distortion to have. BBE makes quality products - most of their pedals are worth checking out. The 3-band EQ is a nice feature, but the treble control can get a little fizzy. The bass and mids are nice, though. It's a heavier distortion, but it's not over the top- it's actually usable. I use this mostly with low-wattage tube amps (Fender and Vox), and in those applications, it works nicely for lead tones and very chunky rhythm. It has a Marshall-like tone. I've used it for recording, and I've gotten good results. You could probably play metal with it if you're pushing a 4x12 cab, but it won't make a little 15-watt solid state bedroom amp sound like a metal-chugging stack. It's just not designed for that sort of nonsense. As for me, it's a good option, but not my main distortion pedal.

First of all it's advertised as a balls to the wall metal pedal! This is simply not the case! it is not much different than a boss DS-1. if you play metal and you want a great pedal that you can scoop the mids to the point of insanity I highly recomend a boss metal zone!! even the boss metalcore or the digitech metal master are far better pedals for playing metal in my opinion!

Let's follow along with the star rating system. Features are good on this little guy. The EQ system lets you get a lot of quality versatility in your crunch and the gain is sensitive enough to be really versatile. It pulls a good balance of versatility and simplicity.

The quality has been my one gripe so far. I really hope my amazing local music store got a dud batch, but the first one I tried in store had horribly sticky knobs, the one I took home died within two weeks (RIP) and the one I have now has the same sticky knob problem on a smaller scale. Other than those small issues, the sound quality is stellar and everything feels strongly built.

It seems like a pretty good pedal for the cash

Overall, I would recommend it over a lot of other pedals, provided my current one doesn't die.
