If ya want to sound like Lynyrd Skynyrd

The look of this amp is really versatile. But thats all I found in this amp. The tones sound like I could play for a southern rock band like Skynyrd. If your into metal or Hard rock do not purchase this amp. It gets way to much feedback and it is a very noisy amp. I have the B-52 straight cab and it can pound out most tones of any kind. When I hooked up the ST-100 it made so much noise and so little gain on distortion. I would recommend the AT-100. My rhythm guitarist in my band has the AT version and it has such a great tone of distortion. Overall the ST-100 is not worth the price. It should actually be cheaper.

A Beast

This head is a beast. Plain and simple it's your tube head that cranks out sound that I would compare with peavey or mesa. It has a pretty good mid range gain tone and a very nice clean. If your looking to buy a good starter tube head or your looking for a main rig head then this is a good head to look at.

I am absolutely blown away by this head. It is one of the nicest sounding tube heads on the market. I have played everything out there and for this price you cannot beat it. Heck for any price it would be hard to beat it. Period.

The gain channels are amazing, distotion/overdrive forever, real nice spring reverb, the clean is real clean and the tone...I don't even have words to say. It is built like a tank, has all the features you could ask for including a real nice 3 button pedal and a 3 way rectifier switch, just like the Mesa triple rectifier. I like this head better though and definitely better than any Marshall out there. Great for metal since the boys from Queensryke use them, I think they know metal.

I wouldn't trade this for anything. You have to buy this for the price and if it's too much head, there is also a 60 watt version as well. Look out for these babies to become a major player in the next few years. Move over Soldano, Mesa and Marshall, here comes B-52

I just got this amp. I bought it on the basis of the comments previous to mine. Bottom line, this amp, regardless of quality, is not for metal. The gain levels up very high make only a slight chug, and that was tested by the EMG 81. Also, there is a ton of feedback at higher levels. This amp could be good, and, if you're looking for an amp that doesn't matter about the overdrive channel, then by all means, it's a great amp. The OD channel is just not cutting' it for me and my metal standards.

I currently have a Mesa triple-recto and I bought this amp for my son since he's been borrowing my mesa, and I certainly don't like that idea. I thought it would sound almost like mine since it contains 4 x 6L6, 5 x 12AX7, 1 x 12AT7, 1 x 5AR4, but I was wrong, it doesn't sound like a mesa, but You'll be amazed how good it sounds, it has its unique tone, yet you can taste the cleanliness of its cleans and the heaviness of distortion. How can this get any better? Take a look at the price tag!!!
