For the price these things are, they pack a wicked punch. I got this used for $625, and it was worth every penny. It has had some problems (power supply died once, and most recently, a blew a fuse supposedly due to its broken standby switch) but the tone and diversity you can get out of it is worth any minor flaws. First thing I love about it is its duel gain channels. One is a muddier classic rock sounding tone, very warm and crisp. The second is a heavy channel is really beefy. Another thing I like about these two channels is the ‘contour’ option. It makes it sound like an old Marshall, giving you that super crisp, sharp metal tone. The cleans on this are also top notch, very warm and smooth. This thing is a tank, at about 85 lbs (and with the very tiny wheels they supply) it can be a bit of a pain to move. If your looking for a good well priced tube amp, I would suggest this to you, all the sounds you can get out of this are amazing.

just bought a used B52 212 combo from a guitar tech and i am impressed. I looked at one of these years ago and couldnt pull the trigger on the buy because they were new on the block but after hearing this thing in the jam room i had to get it. the tech re-tubed it with 12AU7 in V1 and V3, to smooth and tighten up the gain, 12AT7s for reverb and phase inverter and 12AX7-A for the tube driven, buffered effects loop. installed a brand new 5AR4 rectifier tube and four new matched Sovtek power tubes. Biased to spec. the only complaint is that the clean channel is a little too clean, no stevie ray vaughn for me. Its built like a tank and it goes from crystal clean to facelift with the greatest of ease.

I bought this amp for my son about 1.5 years ago as it was the only amp available under 2k that covers clean to metal...and does it well. This one had the fan installed with no fan noise noticed, never runs too hot even in class A mode, and has zero defects on the build quality.

Are only legitimate complaint is that it is a noisy amp when not being played and requires a noisegate or a rectifier and pre-amp tube change which gets rid of over half the stock hum at idle, and brings out even sweeter tone.

It does weigh 85 lbs but I don't consider this a legitimate complaint as buyers know this before purchasing.

Guitar World gave this amp their Gold award for good reason. If you can find one with a fan , buy it and upgrade the pre and rectifier tubes and you will have the amp deal of a lifetime for clean to all out metal tones without pedals.

My Love and My Curse

First I have to say something nice. This amp has some of the BEST tone out there. Beautiful clean channel, and the distortions are both very unique.

That being said. The quality of this amp is TERRIBLE. In the store, one of the back screws came off, so to this day my back grill just dangles. Other people have this problem too. This amp OVERHEATS all the time. I'm considering actually sticking a small fan inside the grill to cool it, because i will actually burn my hands if i leave it on for two hours or so. Its heavy and very sizzly when you arent playing. Mine died on me twice. Once i sent it back to the manufacturer, and the second time i had the local music shop fix it. The guy told me all the soldering was crap. He fixed all of the soldering and such, and it hasnt died again.

My suggestion is DO NOT GET THIS AMP, SAVE FOR SOMETHING BETTER. It sounds great, but its too much trouble.

I just got this amp. At first I was a little scared because it is a rip off of the triple rectifier from boogie. Which I love boogies but have always hated the tri rectifier and dual rectifier models. But maybe because this is a combo I'm not sure but this thing does it all. And I think half of the people that play boogie rectifier models know jack about getting a good tone. I love this amp because I can dial up an excellent rock tone ala AC/DC and punch to a creamy but yet toneful lead tone .... without any pedals or outboard eq or anything. This thing seems to be built like a tank too. My only complaint about this amp is that it weighs a ton. SEEMS REALLY HEAVY......
