Neck-Through Construction
Neck-Through construction is used on the WMD Son of Beast because it provides the best possible sustain, resonance, comfort and access to higher frets. Neck-through has long been considered the premium construction method for high-end guitars. This construction starts with a long piece (or pieces) of premium North American maple. That piece runs from the tip of the headstock to the strap button on the opposite end of the guitar. This means that the headstock, fingerboard, pickups and bridge all are mounted to this single sound foundation. Sonically it is a difference you can hear. The neck-through construction also allows deeper cutaways, providing comfort no bolt-on or set-neck could offer.
Rockfield Pickups - Mafia & Fat Ass
Bridge Pickups - Fat Ass
Aggressive in its own right, the Rockfield FAT ASS bridge pickup was designed with a specific group of players in mind: those with crazy, super acrobatic playing styles. The ones at the gig that make everything look so effortless and easy. As you watch in amazement you say, "Man I need to practice" or, "That's it, man, I quit!" This pickup's custom designed bobbins house larger pole pieces that help transfer string vibration from pulls, bends and leads so the user gets less tonal drop off, better articulation and note definition. The Rockfield FAT ASS has a well balanced overall tone that is mean and bold with major sustain, huge bottom end and cutting mids and highs that jump out at you. Each note is full and rings true from this pickup while you take advantage of a look that is just plain mean and in your face.
Neck Pickups
The neck version of the Mafia pickup is just as full sounding as the bridge position, without taking away from what has already been accomplished. Very minor modifications to the overall design and design concept of this pickup gives it punchy, bold tone with the same aggressive characteristics as the bridge version. A tad brighter with a little less output really takes this pickup into the smooth and warm realm of the tonal spectrum. All while maintaining that balanced bite and in your face aggressive tone that the mafia is known for!
Flat Top
The WMD Son of Beast is constructed with a flat top. The flat top styling gives a bold and pristine look to the edge of the instrument's shape. The binding on a flat top finishes off the edge cleanly and gives a sleek and clean look to the instrument.

This guitar is deinately worth the money. I like almost everything about it. I've had it for 2 years now and I havent found a guitar I liked better. The looks are simply amazing. The sound it makes will definately raise the hairs on the back of your neck. There are few things I don't like about this though.. It might just be the way I play, but the weight of the head pulls the whole neck down when you play. Either that or this isnt enough body weight to keep the guitar in a comfertable playing position. It's easier just to sit down and play. Also another minor setback, you should always keep a polishing cloth near-by. The finish on this guitar is a glossy black, which makes it very prone to getting fingerprints. Overall, this guitar is great. I highly recommend getting it if you have the money at hand

this guitar has some amazing sound and like the w.m.d i was thinking it was going to weigh a S#%T load, but i picked it up and it was light as a feather. Love the neck piece and the distortion built in to it was neat. the pick ups are crap, but if you upgrade to maybe some of dem dime pick ups and you get a good amp you will be waking up the dead with some real blood curdelling sweeps, dives, and squeels. so buy one and piss off the neighbors.

I Got this guitar a few months ago i was looking at a few others but i wouldn't rather have any thing else i play this guitar through a Line 6 spyder III 75 and it plays like a dream the guitars great the amp is great . BUY THIS GUITAR!!!!

I've been shredding for a decent amount of time, and while I normally preferred my Ibanez RG Prestige for its slim neck, I never even thought to try this. When I did, it completely blew me away. Though it looks metal, it's got enough tone on both a clean and a distorted level to back up its amazing shape, and the neck feels incredible for no matter what you're playing. I bought it soon after trying it and I can safely say that it's one of the best purchases I've made.
