A few more things

So I have owned this guitar for over two years now and am even more pleased with it that I was when I posted my previous review. At first the tone seemed a little dull; however, after some new pots and high quality caps, this thing is a tone machine. The only problem I can report is that it is a little neck heavy, but after two years of playing, supporting it feels as natural as breathing. The pickups create a very warm tone yet can scream if pushed. I also put some ceramic magnet pups in it for a while and this thing got mean. This is am amazingly versatile guitar with superb craftsmanship. If you need a guitar that can do anything from vintage clean to heavy rock, this is the one for you.

I've been fool'n around with guitars & basses now for over 40 years & let me tell you the BC Rich Mockingbird Special is Special! I recieved mine just a couple days ago & was to inspired by it's sound & Beauty & quality, had to come write this review. At least mine was absoulty Perfect. Down to the intonation , string height & believe it or not was in tune! This was out of the sealed box!! I could not find any flaws & the sound of the Vintage Rockfield Hunbuckers are just bitting sweet. Played through a 2-12 cab & V32 Palimino class A head, It had tone to die for. Pluged it into my new V50(new style Crate that they been giving away) & same thing. Plug this bird into 1987xl Marshall & ax vin cab & well you would have had to been here, ha! The guitar has a super solid feel with the neck trough & a sustain thats unsurpased. the frets were detailed. all binding & neck superb! Put a coat of polish on this Black Beauty & it is a bonified Show piece. the weight is just slightly lighter than a LP but neck has that type feel of one of those old sweet ones when they were built right. Way to go BC Rich! It's an Import- hey , somebody over there has got it all together, USA needs to wake up & take note! I love to have USA on my guitars but it is not necessary on this one! I'll make an exception this time! Quality is Better than Ibanez, if thats possible!

As an addendum to my last post, I thought I would add a positive experience with my new Mockingbird. Last weekend at a gig in TX the Mockingbird fell from the stand right off the stage, a good 4 feet, with an 8 foot ladder following it. It received only a few tiny dings and played perfectly the following night. My Gibson Explorer isn't that tough!

I got an unreal price on one of these because it was a demo the nieghbohood kids had worked on for a while. My repairman works for a big guitar company custom shop and was as impressed with the quality as I was. After strings and setup, it plays fantastic. The stock pickups were a little soft for my thrash metal band, so I changed them and went on tour. I have owned some other Korean made guitars, and this one is as good as any of them.
