The FA 40 DSP combo combines a dual-channel, all-tube 40W amp section (feeding 1x12" speaker) with 16 internal DSP effects - including 4 Choruses, 4 Flanges, and 8 Delay programs, plus an internal DSP Reverb section. Both channels offer flexible gain and EQ controls for a wide range of clean and crunch tones.

ALLLL POWER!!!!

I just got mine this morning. It is so loud and so powerful that it makes my basement ceiling shake. The clean is amazing for an amp that I had heard to be nothing but a metal-head's amp. The distortion is where it truly shines (duh?). It has one of the most versatile distortion circuits I have ever used, and I prefer the tone over any amp that I have ever used. The vu meter is pretty cool as a little side toy. The clean soothes you and with a tap of the footswitch (included!!!) you can wake the dead... and/or match every tone in between. I did give it a 4.5 on features because the effects dont have a level control. Thats not to say that they arent still entirely incredible (especially for DSP).

I was warned that it may have too much bass by many reviews and many forums. that is not the case. It has an astonishing amount of bass, but with a little EQ tweaking, you can dial in any sound you desire.

Its huge, for a 1x12 at least... and heavy. It can support me standing on it. well built and well engineered. Buy one, or you'll regret it when they're gone.

The owners manual tells no lies..."wear ear protection while using this amplifier". I've been playing a long time (40 years plus) and still love the combo amp. Roadies are a thing of the past and one amp and a guitar is all you need at one time. I've owned Fender, Crate, Boogies and Marshall off and on since I was a kid, and this Ashown, for the buck, has all the "Bang" you need. Clear and true sound, with optional overdrive and onboard effects. Stick a Wah-wah between you and it and you've got it made. If you play a large venue, run it through the board or mike it. You won't be disappointed. Go 60watt if you must. But go Ashdown.

I bought this hoping for a hi-gain all tube combo that would take my sound to as new level. However I found the sound to be muddy at any sound level that won't get you arrested, and that the bass was just two much. The this just isn't that musical. Buy a different tube amp. In fact I like my AVT Marshall better. I returned it.
