Vintage Sunburst, Back

Handcrafted in an old-fashioned workshop in a Japanese mountain village under the personal guidance of master luthier Kazuo Yairi, Alvarez Yairi guitars are made with extremely choice tonewoods. The woods are naturally air dried and crafted into instruments with individually hand-shaped bracing and dovetail neck joints. This WY1 model is constructed of premium solid spruce for the top and figured maple back and sides for a luxurious look and a bright, powerful tone.

Yairi's brilliant design innovations include an extended neck tenon for a wider range of rod adjustment and no neck/body irregularities. A unique coupled bridge design removes the forward pull from the bridge itself for greater stability and lighter bracing leading to freer tone.

This Virtuoso model comes with the expressive System 600T MK II electronics for premium acoustic-electric amplification. Other enhancements include a bound ebony fretboard, abalone rosette, multiple body binding, bound ebony headstock veneer, and gold die-cast tuners with amber buttons.

I have played and owned many guitars since I was 7 years old. I own about 50 different guitars now. This is the best sounding and the most beautiful guitar that I have ever owned or played hands down. This thing sounds better than any Martin, Gibson or Taylor that I have ever heard or played and that is a fact and I have heard and played many, many guitars. Pluged in this is one amazing instrument from the from the high E to the low E and all the in between! If you have never played a Yairi you've got to try one, they are all amazing sounding and playing guitars. You will not be disapointed I guarantee it!

I was looking for a smaller bodied acoustic electric and I was being picky. I wanted sunburst and solid Maple back and sides plus I had to have a good pickup system. This guitar has all that with a neck that feels great. I play mostly solo at several different venues with house PA systems. I've been able to adjust the pickup for all these and my own PA to get a full clean sound each time.

It's been 10 days and I can tell ya this baby ain't going back :)

I have owned more guitars than I can remember, and the instant I picked this guitar up I knew I had to have it. it has amazing sound quality, tone, and voice. I have friends with Taylors, and when we sit down they all wind up wanting to hold my Yairi. As amazing as the sound is, the looks are even better. you simply cannot play this guitar without someone asking you if they can hold it, almost like a baby.... Buy it. And love it.

I am reviewing the Yairi wy1ts.

This is a great guitar for any level of player. I would consider myself an intermediate to advanced player myself and play mostly acoustic style music. This guitar has an amzing sound with unbelieveable bass. Also the high end sounds associate with soloing and such things is great. This is all in spite that this is the prettiest guitar i have ever seen. I love it.

Unbelievable Guitar...

I've owned them all...this one takes the cake. I'm a singer/songwriter thats been doing live and studio stuff for 15 years and I've never run across a guitar that has sounded or played so well right out of the case.

FEATURES: Excellent reproduction of guitar tone with the high-end MK electronics. It doesn't have an internal condensor mic like a Taylor BUT it does give you an "AUX IN" on the underside of the component box if you ever wanna add one. The built-in tuner is great too. The Abalone is simply stunning but subtle unlike the big flashy Martin D's. The Yairi logo on the headstock lets people know you came to play...kinda like dual-flags on the side of an old musclecar.

QUALITY: Spruce top, maple back and sides, ebony fretboard...all top notch woods. What really surprised me was that there's not ONE place on the whole guitar I could find a workmanship flaw...every piece is flush...its like Kazuo made it himself! I did find something interesting out about the Yairi factory: Nestled in the hills of Japan there are no more than 40-50 people that work there...EVERYTHING is done by hand by master luthiers. I've not come across this kind of craftsmanship for the price in my life.

VALUE: Well, the price is kind of steep but I give it a 10 simply because if you look at the handmade construction and materials used then look at comparable models by Martin, Gibson and Taylor...it's like HALF the price and you get the same thing if not better. At least with this guitar you know that it was hand made and had care in making it.

OVERALL: I will probably never buy another Acoustic/Electric Steel String...this one will do it all for as long as I'm alive (Lifetime Warranty).
