I have owned one of these models recently. Due to an unfortunate gigging accident it was destroyed but I am replacing it with another just like it. The sound is fantastic! Really light and airy, but with solid mids too. Not too bassy, really good for indie and folk music, which I play. Solid top and built to last. Nice appointments via the soundhole rosette, other than that pretty simple design. Stock tuners are great. Finish is glossy and flawless. Fretboard is silky smoothe. Onboard pickup and premap sound amazing! Hard to beat for this price range.

I'm 18, but I've owned my share of guitars. Gibsons, Fenders, Ibanez, Epiphone, and others all the way down to the cheap starter guitars. In that time I've also had the time to play other peoples guitars as well. When it comes to acoustics, for the price of this guitar it's a slick deal. The action seems right on and leaves a faint buzz if anything on the fretboard. It has beautiful tone, especially when it comes equipped with Elixir strings. The on board tuner is easy to use and it can be turned on and off to save battery power. The body size is just perfect for what I've been looking for. The small folk design, along with the cutaway, fits me perfectly. It also has strap buttons so you can strap up. This blows my last acoustic-electric out of the water.

unplugged sound = not that great.. plugged sound is much better. so if u are planning to play with amp.. go ahead.. for this price, it's decent guitar..

ive been playing guitar for almost a year, and i was playing an acoustic that was a piece of crap. i bought this alvarez today and it sounds truly amazing! the picture on this website does not look that great, but in real life, oh boy, it looks wonderful. the neck is nice and light and it glides nicely. it has an awesome tone. overall, this guitar is great, a must buy for those who are looking for an affordable, great guitar. go alvarez!

I purchased this guitar as my "go-to" acoustic as I am an electric player most of the time. I really was impressed by the craftsmanship and quality of the overall package. Solid spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides! Pretty...and it does not sound to shabby unplugged. It is a smaller body than a dreadnaught - thus the FOLK style but plug it in and it sounds fabulous. Simple but effective amplification for most any application unless you are a paid touring professional or a gear collector, in which case spend those bucks. But for the aspiring artist, you can't go wrong.
