Let me say that I was VERY suprised with this pedal. Was looking for a real universal distoriton that could cover a wide range of sounds. Tried several other brands that we, just ok. This has become my new favorite distortion pedal. While other brands seem gritty, fuzzy, and hissy, the AMT DT-2 is full bodied, thick, crunchy distortion at it's best. LOVE the switches. This is where the options come into play. Lots of tones here. Switching the MIC one really is useful in laying down rythym tracks. Do one track with one MIC setting panned one way, then do a second track on a different MIC setting panned the other way, and WOW, instant studio professional recording. LOVE THE AMT DT-2. Great job AMT. Finally, somebody got it right! Will look into buying other AMT pedals now. TRUST ME, try this one out!

Sounds really good. Very versatile and I almost kept it but there is a weird fizzing sound that you can hear when the sound is trailing off. I don't know what it is but it really annoyed me. So I had to send it back.

After a long time on the backorder list and seeing it drop from the catalog completely I am happy to finally own one. Many times sound samples are misleading in comparison to what you actually get through your own rig but this is certainly not true here. Go and check out the sound clips, I fell in love with them and only hoped I would get a similar sound but man are they dead on. All 3 amp modes sound sweet and the 3 wiring mods in tandem with the drive control dish out clean to mega saturation with minimal noise. Actually considering the level of saturation the noise is so nominal its not worth complaining about. The mic switch offers even further takes on all the sounds and really do take on the characteristic of the setting you choose. I am using it in front of a tube amp and also to do some tracks on my computer with. If your in a situation where getting a quiet room to mic isn't an option this beats the heck out of some of the VST plug-ins I have used in the past without sacrificing processor cycles. It is a bit pricier than an entry level pedal but for what you getting its money well spent. If you consider what some other hand built pedals run one might even call this a steal. The only thing I might have done differently if I was playing live with it is cough up the extra cash for the programable counterpart. I hope this helps anyone stuck on the fence about whether or not to get an AMT product. Peace.
